The cow gave birth to a cute little calf 2 days after I took this picture.

పాత ఆవే. అప్పుడు చెప్పిన కథే: ఆరోజు పొద్దున్న గోసంరక్షణసమితిలో ధాన్యాలు ఇవ్వడానికి వెళ్ళేసరికి ఆవులన్నీ తయారైపోయి బొట్లుపెట్టేసుకుని ఉన్నాయి. అప్పుడే దూడల్ని తల్లుల దగ్గెరకి వదులుతున్నారు.

Same cow. By the time we got to Gosamrakshana Samithi (a place where cows are protected and taken care of. Such places usually run on charity) that morning, to give pulses/grains, all the cows were given a bath and decorated as per their daily routine. Calves were just being brought to their mothers.

Florida Redbelly Turtle

కూర్మం/కమఠం/తాబేలు

ఫ్లోరిడా రెడ్-బెల్లీ ఎక్కువగా చెరువులు, నీటిబుగ్గలు, వాగుల దగ్గెర గట్ల మీద చెట్ల మీద ఇలా వెచ్చని ఎండని అస్వాదిస్తూ కనిపిస్తుంటాయి. రూపురేఖల్లో పెనింసులా కూటర్‌/ఫ్లోరిడా కూటర్‌ అనే చుట్టాన్ని పోలి ఉంటుంది. ఆహారం నాచు, నీళ్ళల్లో పెరిగే మొక్కలు. పెంపుడు జంతువులుగానూ, అహారంగానూ కూడా ఎగుమతి అవుతూంటాయి(ట). గుడ్లు పెట్టేటప్పుడు ఒకోసారి వెళ్ళి దగ్గర్లో ఉండే మొసలి గూడులో పెట్టేసి వచ్చేస్తుంది, ఆ గుడ్ల రక్షణ కోసం. మొసలి ఈ గుడ్లు కూడా తన గుడ్లే అనేసుకుని జాగ్రత్తగా పొదిగేస్తుంది. అచ్చం మన కోకిల వెళ్ళి కాకి గూట్లో గుడ్లు పెట్టినట్టు. వివరాల్లో తప్పులు/తేడాలు ఉంటే తెలియపరచగలరు. 

Florida Redbelly is often seen basking on logs and shores along lakes, ponds, slow-flowing streams. It is closely related to the Peninsula Cooter/Florida Cooter. Aquatic vegetarian. Commonly exported for pet trade and consumption. These turtles sometimes lay their eggs in its neighbor's (alligator) nesting mounds, to protect them from predators. Alligator, thinking those are hers, protects and hatches them. Just like cuckoo eggs in crow's nest. Gharial/మొసలి

మకరం/శిశుమారం/గ్రాహం

Indian Gharialగా పిలవబడే ఈ మొసలి భారతఉపఖండంలోని ఉత్తరప్రాంతాలలో, ముఖ్యంగా గంగా, బ్రహ్మపుత్ర, మహానది మరియూ సింధూ నదీ పరీవాహక ప్రాంతాలలో ఎక్కువగా కనిపిస్తుంది. సన్నగా, పొడూగ్గా ఉండే నోరు, ఆ నోటి చివర్న బొడిపలాంటి ఆకారం (ముఖ్యంగా మగవాటికి) ప్రత్యేకతలు. Ghara, అనగా హిందీలో కుండ ఆకారంలో ఉన్న ఆ మూతిచివర బొడిప కారణంగానే దీనికి gharial అని పేరు వచ్చింది. ఈ జాతి మొసళ్ళు అతిపొడవైన మొసళ్ళు మాత్రమే కాదు, మిగతా మొసళ్ళకన్నా చురుకునైవి కూడా. This crocodile-like reptile called Indian Gharial is native to northern regions of Indian Subcontinent, especially in the river systems of Ganga, Brahmaputra, Mahanadi and Indus. Long, narrow snout and bulbous growth at the the tip (especially for male gharials) are the characteristic features. The bulbous growth at the tip looks like a "Ghara" (Hindi word for pot), hence the name. Gharials are not only the longest but also quickest of the crocodilian order. Barking Deer/Montjac

ఆగ్నేయాసియాదేశాల్లో మాత్రమే కనిపించే ఈ చిన్నసైజు జింక (Muntjac) barking deer అని సాధారణంగా పిలువబడటానికి కారణం దాని అరుపు అచ్చు కుక్క అరుపులాగానే ఉండటమే.

This small deer native to southeastern asia is called Montjac, but usually referred to as "Barking Deer" as its calls, especially when it senses danger, sound exactly like dog's barks.
