Please let us know if there are any discrepencies/variations in names. I just came across this book in google books, which seems to be good reference, though a very old one, for birds in Indian subcontinent, especially to newbies like us. Vernacular names of indian birds can be found here.

  1. Wow. Very nice. Where did you shoot this?

  2. Thanks Aparna and Ramana! It was at the same location as the last couple of photos (cow and osprey), an old closed down mine site in Lakeland FL, now transformed into a fish management area (Tenoroc Fish Management Area) but an awesome site for birding (one of the gateways for florida birding trail). Since its the breeding season, there were like thousands and thousands of ibises hurrying from every direction to build nests.

  3. Thanks Sasanka! I saw your blog and loved pictures. Do you upload your photos anywhere else?
